LOS ANGELES IS THE GREAT UNSOLVED URBAN MYSTERY OF OUR TIME. IT IS A CITY THAT SUPPLIES NO EXPLANATION FOR ITSELF, FOR HOW IT WORKS - YET IT OPENS ITS ARMS TO YOU TO THINK AND DREAM ABOUT WHAT IS POSSIBLE.

INDEED, LOS ANGELES WEARS ITS CROWN OF FUTURISM 1 LIKE AGING ROYALTY, A BIT ASKEW SHALL WE SAY.

HOWEVER , THIS IS ITS INFINITE APPEAL . IT IS A NEVER ENDING PROJECT MIXED WITH REALISM AND OPTIMISM - AND IT  IS WHY WE LIVE HERE.

NMDA works on projects at all scales in multiple design-media systems

1 Although Los Angeles can be thought of as a city which should never have been built (given that water had to be funneled here from great distances), it was nonetheless constructed via sheer human willpower. Between 1913 -15, the San Fernando Valley recieved water, the film industry in LA began, and the Port of Los Angeles opened. At that moment, for NMDA, Los Angeles became the city of the future. More than a century later, our futurist crown is tipped toward the realities of the present.
